Vicky Briggs

Children and the way they learn and develop never ceases to amaze me; from the moment they start school, with all the awe and wonder of learning, to leaving us for employment or further studying as rounded and confident citizens.

Their inquisitive minds and ability to overcome challenges leaves me in awe of them. It is an honour to be in this role and I never underestimate the influence we have on so many young lives.

I am passionate about how the Trust has evolved since 2017 and am excited to be part of how we develop further, working strategically together for the best interests and life chances for the children and young people across our academies.

I am a qualified teacher and hold a BA(Hons) in English with QTS. I have attained the National Professional Qualification for Headship and the National Professional Qualification for Executive Leadership. I have taught across the primary age range and have extensive experience in leadership, including experience as a headteacher and an executive head. As the Director of Education for TCAT, serving nursery to post-16 academies, I am in a privileged position to support and challenge the academies within the trust. In addition to my main role, I am an Ofsted inspector.

I also work as a local authority school improvement associate and have undertaken DfE school to school support work across the northwest with primaries and secondaries.

Supporting colleagues to develop their own expertise is a passion and I enjoy being a coach and facilitator delivering on the Early Career Framework and National Professional qualifications.

Children and the way they learn and develop never ceases to amaze me; from the moment they start school, with all the awe and wonder of learning, to leaving us ready for secondary as rounded and confident citizens.
