Sheila Yates

‘Outstanding and visionary’ is how Sheila’s last inspection report as a Headteacher described her leadership.  Now retired, Sheila worked in secondary schools for over thirty years, seventeen of them as the Headteacher of Birchwood Community High School, Warrington. After stepping down as a Headteacher, for eight years she worked as a School Improvement Partner and Consultant Headteacher supporting schools in a full range of circumstances and settings.  She has contributed to education conferences nationally and internationally.  Her main areas of expertise are supporting Headteachers and Governors, School Improvement, Community Education, Curriculum and Staff Development.  She is currently Chair of Governors at Priestley Sixth Form College and one of the Vice Chairs of The Challenge Academy Trust.  She Chairs the Quality and Standards Committee.
